LEAF (UPPER SIDE): medium to dark green, medium to strong glossiness
COROLLA: medium reflexing of lobes, no stripes
UPPER LIP OF COROLLA: white (RHS NN155D) on inner side
LOWER LIP OF COROLLA: white (RHS NN155D) on inner side, absent or very weak to weak undulation of margin
COROLLA CHAMBER: longer than broad, no markings on inner side
COROLLA POUCH: white to yellow green on inner side
NECTARY BULGE: white
Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'ANCASWHI' originated from a cross conducted by the breeder Elke Steffen in Dresden, Germany during the summer of 2014. Both the female and male parents used to conduct the cross were unknown proprietary seedlings. 'ANCASWHI' was selected in the summer of 2015 based on plant growth habit, flower colour and flower performance in hanging baskets. Asexual reproduction of 'ANCASWHI' was first conducted by cuttings in the summer of 2015 in Dresden, Germany.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'ANCASWHI' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring and summer of 2019 at Bioflora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15cm pots on April 12, 2019. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on June 24, 2019. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
