Summary: The leaf of 'ANWEDG116' is longer than the leaf of 'Angelos Blue n White'. The flower chamber of 'ANWEDG116' is broader than it is long, and wider than that of 'Angelos Blue n White', which is equally as long as it is broad. The flower chamber of 'ANWEDG116' has medium intensity purple red markings whereas the chamber of 'Angelos Blue n White' has strong intensity purple red markings. The nectary bulge of 'ANWEDG116' is white while that of 'Angelos Blue n White' is white with a purple protuberance.

COROLLA CHAMBER: broader than long, medium intensity of purple red markings on inner side, markings on inner side are of medium density
COROLLA POUCH: yellow green fading to white on inner side
NECTARY BULGE: white
Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'ANWEDG116' originated from a cross conducted by the breeder Elke Steffen in Dresden, Germany during the summer of 2014. Both the female and male parents used to conduct the cross were unknown proprietary seedlings. 'ANWEDG116' was selected in the summer of 2015 based on plant growth habit, flower colour and flower performance in hanging baskets. Asexual reproduction of 'ANWEDG116' was first conducted by cuttings in the summer of 2015 in Dresden, Germany.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'ANWEDG116' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring and summer of 2019 at Bioflora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15cm pots on April 12, 2019. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on June 24, 2019. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
