TREE: weak vigour, ramified, drooping growth habit, bearing fruit on spurs and long shoots, begin flowering early, late harvest maturity, late to very late eating maturity
ONE-YEAR-OLD SHOOT: thin to medium thickness, short internode, side facing sun is medium brown, medium to dense pubescence on distal half, few lenticels

FLOWER: predominantly medium red at balloon stage, small to medium sized diameter when petals pressed into horizontal position, free arrangement of petals, stigmas positioned above anthers

PETIOLE: medium length, very small to small extent of anthocyanin colouration extending from base
LEAF BLADE: outwards attitude in relation to shoot, short to medium length, narrow, large ratio of length to width, medium intensity of green on upper side, serrate Type 1 incisions of margin along distal half, absent or sparse pubescence on lower side

YOUNG FRUIT: medium extent of anthocyanin over colour
FRUIT: small to medium size, short to medium height, small diameter, medium to large height to diameter ratio, globose shape, moderate degree of ribbing, moderate degree of crowning at calyx end, medium to long sepal
FRUIT SKIN: moderate amount of bloom, moderate amount of greasiness, whitish yellow ground colour, very dark red over colour distributed over a large to very large area in a flushed, striped and mottled pattern, narrow to medium width stripes, medium area of russet around stalk attachment, absent or small area of russet on cheeks, absent or small area of russet around eye basin, medium number of small lenticels

Origin & Breeding History: '323' originated from a cross between 'Galaxy' and 'A3-7' made in 1999 in Ferrara, Italy. '323' was selected in August 2004 for production characteristics, flavour, aroma, and sustainability by increasing a tree's natural resistance to scab.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2012/0805, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Wurzen, Germany during 2015 and 2016.
