Description:

TREE: medium vigour, ramified, upright growth habit, fruit bearing on spurs only, begins flowering mid-season, mid-season fruit harvest and eating maturity
ONE-YEAR-OLD SHOOT: medium thickness, medium to long internode length, side facing sun is reddish brown, dense pubescence on distal third, medium number of lenticels

PETIOLE: very short to short, large extent of anthocyanin colouration from base
LEAF BLADE: outwards attitude in relation to shoot, short to medium length, medium width, medium length to width ratio, light to medium intensity of green on upper side, serrate type 1 incisions of margin on distal half, absent or sparse pubescence on lower side

FLOWER: predominantly yellowish pink at balloon stage, large diameter when petals pressed into horizontal position, free arrangement of petals, stigmas positioned above anthers

YOUNG FRUIT: small extent of anthocyanin over colour
FRUIT: medium size, medium to tall, large diameter, medium to large height to diameter ratio, conic shape, absent or weak degree of ribbing, absent or weak crowning at calyx end, short to medium length sepal

Origin & Breeding History: 'PremA129' (experimental designation 'A182R03T129') originated from a cross between the female parent 'Scired' and the male parent 'PremA280' made in 1997 at the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research, in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. 'PremA129' was selected as a seedling in 2003 and was first asexually propagated in 2003. 'PremA129' was selected based on fruit shape, colour, flavour, yield and plant resistance to pests and diseases.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'PremA129' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number APP224, grant number 32453, received from the New Zealand Plant Variety Rights Office, in Christchurch, New Zealand. The trial was conducted by the Cultivar Centre, Plant and Food Research, Havelock North, New Zealand from 2018 to 2019.
