The new variety Kerbespipple' was selected in June 2016 based on having double-type flowers, flower size, flower colour and number of flowers. Asexual reproduction by vegetative tip cuttings was initiated in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2016.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for Kerbespipple' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2024 at Bioflora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 10, 2024. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of 10 plants, of each variety on May 18, 2024. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
