Origin & Breeding History: 'SUNBIDEVB 2' was bred and developed by the breeder in Fukaya-shi, Saitama, Japan. It originated from a controlled cross conducted between two unnamed proprietary seedlings, the female parent with the male parent, derived from the variety 'Yellow Charm'. A single plant was selected in July 2011 based on its growth habit, flower size and colour. Performance trials were conducted from September 2011 to April 2013 and the new variety was named 'SUNBIDEVB 2'.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'SUNBIDEVB 2' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2016 at BioFlora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. There were 15 plants each of the candidate and reference varieties. Rooted cuttings were transplanted into 10 cm pots on April 19, 2016. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on May 30, 2016. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticulture Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
