Summary: The plants of 'BB05-274MI-139' have medium vigour whereas the plants of 'Nelson' have strong vigour. 'BB05-274MI-139' has a shorter leaf than 'Nelson'. The leaf blade of 'BB05-274MI-139' has a serrate margin whereas the leaf blade of 'Nelson' has an entire margin. The intensity of anthocyanin colouration of the flower bud is medium for 'BB05-274MI-139' whereas the intensity is strong for 'Nelson' and 'Liberty'. The presence of ridges on the corolla tube of 'BB05-274MI-139' is medium whereas the presence is very strong on the corolla tube of the reference varieties. The intensity of green colour of the unripe fruit of 'BB05-274MI-139' is medium to strong whereas the intensity of green of the unripe fruit of 'Liberty' is weak to medium. In longitudinal section, the shape of the fruit of 'BB05-274MI-139' is round whereas the shape of the fruit of 'Liberty' is oblate. The depth of the calyx basin of the fruit is of medium depth for 'BB05-274MI-139' whereas the calyx basin of the fruit of 'Liberty' is shallow. The firmness of the fruit of 'BB05-274MI-139' is firm whereas the firmness of the fruit of 'Nelson' is soft to medium. The fruit of 'BB05-274MI-139' begins ripening late whereas the fruit of 'Nelson' begins ripening mid-season.

FRUIT: medium size, round shape in longitudinal section, medium depth of calyx basin, firm, medium to high sweetness, medium acidity
FRUIT SKIN: medium to strong degree of bloom, dark blue (after removal of bloom)
FRUIT SEPAL: erect to semi-erect attitude, curvature is incurved

Origin & Breeding History: 'BB05-274MI-139' originated from a cross conducted in 2005, in South Haven, Michigan, USA, between the variety 'Brigitta', as the female parent, and the variety 'Nelson', as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'BB05-274MI-139' was selected in 2009 for its maturity date, plant growth habit, leaf morphology, and berry quality and morphology.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'BB05-274MI-139' was conducted in 2017, in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. There were 120 plants per variety which were spaced 1 m apart.
