Summary: The plants of 'FC12-205' have very strong vigour whereas the plants of the reference varieties have medium vigour. The one-year-old shoot internode length of 'FC12-205' is of medium length whereas the one-year-old shoot internode length of both reference varieties is short. The leaf of 'FC12-205' is elliptic shaped whereas the leaf of 'Legacy' is lanceolate shaped. The corolla of 'FC12-205' is ovoid shaped whereas the corolla of 'Legacy' is ellipsoid shaped and that of 'Draper' is globose shaped. The flower of 'FC12-205' has a green receptacle whereas the flower of 'Legacy' has a blue receptacle. The fruit of 'FC12-205' is medium sized whereas the fruit of 'Legacy' is medium to large and that of 'Draper' is large.

UNRIPE FRUIT: medium to dark green (with bloom), fruit ripening begins mid to late season on one-year-old shoots

Origin & Breeding History: 'FC12-205' originated from a controlled cross between the varieties 'ZF06-103', as the female parent, and 'ZF06-264', as the male parent, made in 2008 in Lowell, Oregon, USA. 'FC12-205' was selected from the resulting progeny for fruit size, firmness, and harvest date. Propagation was conducted by softwood cuttings and further testing occurred from 2009 to 2015.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'FC12-205' was conducted by Expert Agriculture Team Ltd., in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada during the 2022 growing season. One year old plants were transplanted in April 2021 into raised beds, covered with plastic and irrigated with drip lines. The plots were arranged in an RBC design with 4 replicates. Each replicate consisted of 3 plants for a total of 12 plants of each variety. Plants were spaced approximately 90 centimetres apart within rows with 3 metres between rows. Measurements were taken from 10 plants or parts of 10 plants of each variety. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test.
