Summary: The sunny side of the young shoot of 'HER2009B01' is medium green while that of 'HER2009B03' is light green. The petiole of HER2009B01' is very short whereas that of 'HER2009B03' is short.
Description:
SHRUB: medium width, medium degree of branching
YOUNG SHOOT: medium green on sunny side and shadow side
MATURE SHOOT: medium green on sunny side
PETIOLE: very short, light green
LEAF BLADE: short, narrow to medium width, elliptic shape, rounded apex, narrow wedge shaped base, straight margin
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): dark brown green (RHS 137B)
LEAF BLADE (LOWER SIDE): light green (RHS 144B)
Origin & Breeding History: 'HER2009B01' originated from an interspecific pollination between two proprietary varieties conducted in the spring of 2009. The resulting seedlings were harvested, and resulting seeds were sown in October 2009. In 2014, 'HER2009B01' was selected as a single seedling based on its plant growth habit, foliage size and colour, as well as disease resistance.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'HER2009B01' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20180654, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt, in Hannover, Germany from 2019 to 2020.
