Varieties used for comparison: 'PKMP08', 'PKMP09', 'BGC 1950801', 'BGC 1950802' and 'Planet'

Summary: The plants of 'PKMP10' have a flat-rounded growth habit whereas the plants of 'BGC 1950801' have a rounded growth habit. The density of branching of the plants of 'PKMP10' is dense while it is of medium density for those of 'PKMP08' and 'BGC 1950802'. The inner side of the corolla tube of 'PKMP10' is violet whereas that of 'PKMP08' and 'PKMP09' is darker violet. The lobes of the calyx of 'PKMP10' are somewhat spreading to at right angles to the stem while the calyx lobes of 'PKMP09' and 'Planet' are weakly reflexed. The shape of the corolla lobe of 'PKMP10' is moderately elliptic whereas the corolla lobe of 'Planet' is narrowly elliptic. The corolla lobe of 'PKMP10' has medium reflexing whereas that of 'BGC 1950801' and 'BGC 1950802' has strong reflexing.

COROLLA TUBE: length relative to the corolla length is medium to long, short, when viewed in profile sides of tube are slightly divergent towards opening, very narrow opening, outer side is violet (RHS N87A), inner side is violet (RHS N87C), secondary colour of inner side is violet (RHS N87A) and distributed as stripes along veins on distal three quarters
POLLEN: whitish

Origin & Breeding History: 'PKMP10' originated from a breeding program with the objective of developing new Campanula varieties with compact growth habit, greater floriferousness and more colourful flowers. An open hybridization was conducted by the breeder in Sohus, Denmark between the two proprietary seedlings, designated '08.08.1001' and '08.08.1010', in August 2009. 'PKMP10' was selected in August 2010.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'PKMP10' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2012/1190, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge, United Kingdom in 2013. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
