Origin & Breeding History: 'Chico Rosa' was bred and developed by the breeder, Alexius Joannes Joseph van der Zwet, in Oude-Wetering, Netherlands. It originated from an open pollinated cross that occurred during the summer of 2006 between two unnamed proprietary seedlings. From the resulting progeny, 'Chico Rosa' was selected in the summer of 2007 for its plant growth habit, abundant flowering, flower colour, and strength of its stems. 'Chico Rosa' was first propagated asexually in the summer of 2009, in Oude-Wetering, Netherlands.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Chico Rosa' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2013/3212, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 2015 and 2016. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
