Summary: The plants of ‘CIDZ0099' are shorter than those of ‘Yosanta Cruz'. Including the petiole, the leaf of ‘CIDZ0099' is shorter than that of ‘Yosanta Cruz'. The flower head of ‘CIDZ0099' is larger in diameter and taller than that of ‘Yosanta Cruz'. The ray floret of ‘CIDZ0099' is wider than that of ‘Yosanta Cruz'.

LEAF: high length to width ratio, short terminal lobe relative to leaf length, acute to obtuse base, weak glossiness of upper side, medium to dark green upper side, medium to many deep indentations of margin
LOWEST LATERAL SINUS: shallow to medium depth, parallel margins

FLOWER BUD (OUTER SIDE): light yellow (closest to RHS 1D) just before opening
FLOWER HEAD: semi-double daisy type, few rows of ray florets
RAY FLORET: ligulate type only, attitude of basal part is moderately ascending, two keels on upper surface, short to medium length corolla tube, weakly concave to flat in cross-section at widest point, flat to weakly revolute rolling of margin at basal quarter, reflexing with some twisted along longitudinal axis with medium to strong curvature along the distal half, high length to width ratio, emarginate to dentate shaped tip
RAY FLORET (INNER SIDE): two colours, mainly medium yellow (RHS 4B), solid or nearly solid to flushed medium brown purple (RHS 185B-C) to brown red (RHS 181C-D) secondary colour at basal half, colour is markedly different compared to outer side
RAY FLORET (OUTER SIDE): medium to dark blue pink (RHS 186C-D) with light yellow (brighter than RHS 4D)
DISC: small diameter relative to head diameter, moderately domed in cross-section, yellowish with no dark spot at centre before anther dehiscence, yellow orange at anther dehiscence

Origin & Breeding History: 'CIDZ0099' was discovered as a mutation from the proprietary parent seedling designated ‘B9630' in Gilroy, California, USA on November 16, 2015. It was selected based on its plant growth habit; flower form and colour; as well as flowering response time.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘CIDZ0099' was conducted in a greenhouse in St. Catharine's, Ontario in the summer of 2025. Fifty unrooted cuttings were planted into 15 cm pots, with 5 cuttings per pot, 10 pots per variety on June 30, 2025. Plants were pinched on July 14, 2025 prior to short day treatment. Plants were spaced 30 cm apart on July 21, 2025. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on September 10, 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart.
