Variety used for comparison: 'CIDZ0101' (Flagstaff Topaz)
Summary: The petiole of ‘CIDZ0114' is longer than that of ‘CIDZ0101'. The inner side of the ray floret of ‘CIDZ0114' is medium yellow while that of ‘CIDZ0101' is mainly medium yellow with a secondary flush of light yellow brown at the tip and throughout with age.

FLOWER BUD (OUTER SIDE): medium yellow (RHS 7C) just before opening
FLOWER HEAD: semi-double daisy type, few rows of ray florets
RAY FLORET: ligulate type only, attitude of basal part is moderately ascending, two keels on upper surface, short corolla tube, flat in cross-section at widest point, moderately revolute rolling of margin at distal three quarters, straight with some incurving along longitudinal axis with weak curvature, medium to high length to width ratio, dentate shaped tip
RAY FLORET (INNER SIDE): one colour, medium yellow (RHS 5A), colour is similar compared to outer side
DISC: small to medium diameter relative to head diameter, yellowish green with no dark spot at centre before anther dehiscence, yellowish green at anther dehiscence
Origin & Breeding History: 'CIDZ0114' was discovered as a naturally occurring branch mutation of the parent variety ‘CIDZ0101' (Flagstaff Topaz) in Gilroy, California, USA in July of 2018. It was selected based on its flower type, colour and canopy; as well as its flowering response time.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘CIDZ0114' was conducted in a greenhouse in St. Catharine's, Ontario in the summer of 2025. Fifty unrooted cuttings were planted into 15 cm pots, with 5 cuttings per pot, 10 pots per variety on June 30, 2025. Plants were pinched on July 14, 2025 prior to short day treatment. Plants were spaced 30 cm apart on July 21, 2025. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on September 10, 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart.
