Description:

PLANT: medium height, medium to broad, medium to many lateral shoots, flowering shoot erect to semi-erect
STEM: medium to thick, spines grouped, longest spines of medium length

LEAF: long, medium to broad, dark green upper side, red lower side

PEDUNCLE: medium length, medium green
INFLORESCENCE: three levels of cyathia
CYATHOPHYLL: overlapping, medium size, upper side dark pink red (RHS 52A), lower side red pink (RHS 52B), medium discolouration at end of flowering, weak prominence of midrib

Origin & Breeding History: '1201ZEU' originated from a population of Euphorbia milii that resulted from a random hybridization between two unnamed proprietary seedlings. This cross occured in June 2011 by the breeder in Söndersö, Denmark. The seed was harvested from the female parent and the resulting progeny were evaluated. The new variety was selected in April 2013 based on its upright plant growth habit, medium height, dark green foliage and light red coloured cyathophylls.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of '1201ZEU' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 20140641, purchased from the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in 2015. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
