PLANT: produces Beth Alpha fruit, gynoecious sex expression, predominantly one or two female flowers per node, parthenocarpy present, indeterminate growth type, first 15 internodes are of medium length

COTYLEDON: no bitterness

LEAF BLADE: horizontal to drooping attitude, medium length, medium ratio of terminal lobe length in relation to blade length, shape of apex of terminal lobe is right-angled, medium intensity of green on upper side, weak degree of blistering, absent or weak undulation of margin, very weak to weak dentation of margin

TIME OF DEVELOPMENT OF FEMALE FLOWERS (WHEN 80% OF PLANTS HAVE AT LEAST ONE FEMALE FLOWER): early
OVARY VESTITURE: white

PEDUNCLE: medium length
FRUIT: short to medium length, small to medium diameter, small length to diameter ratio, medium to large core diameter in relation to diameter of fruit, round shape in transverse section, shape of stem end is obtuse, shape of calyx end is rounded, absent or weak ribs, no sutures, weak to medium degree of creasing, no warts, absent or very short stripes, no dots

DISEASE REACTIONS: resistance to Cucumber Vein Yellowing Virus (CVYU) present; highly resistant to Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV) and powdery mildew (Podosphaera xanthii) (Px); no resistance to Cladosporium cucumerinum, Corynespora blight and Target leaf spot (Corynespora cassiicola) (Cca) and Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV)

Origin & Breeding History: 'Skywell' (breeders reference 22-560 RZ) originated from a cross made in the fall of 2014, in the Netherlands. The resulting hybrid was selected for its stable fruit quality during the growing season, fruit set, extended endurance and yield. 'Skywell' is a mini-cucumber variety suitable for heated cultivation.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Skywell' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number KMK1297, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2018.
