Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEDG13146' was bred and developed by the breeder, Martin Glawe, in Stuttgart, Germany. It originated from a hybrid cross conducted in May 2007, between the proprietary variety designated 'DCP 06 060', as the female parent, and the proprietary variety designated 'N 6', as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, seedlings were selected in June 2008, in Stuttgart, for their flower colour, plant growth habit, and good branching characteristics. These seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials from January to May in 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, in Stuttgart, to assess them for early and abundant flower production, good performance, good branching characteristics, and frost resistance. 'KLEDG13146' was selected for commercialization in May 2010.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEDG13146' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number ANJ3125, purchased from the Raad voor Plantenrassen, in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw - Variety Center, in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands, in 2014. The colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
