Origin & Breeding History: 'EX15320' originated from a population of Exacum seedlings that resulted from the hybridization between two Ex-Plant hybrid breeding lines of Exacum. This work was conducted by the breeder in Glamsbjerg, Denmark beginning in 2004 and took place over successive years. The parental lines were developed by the crossing, selfing and back-crossing of cultivars of Exacum trinervium ssp. ritigalensis x E. trinervium ssp. macranthum. Seeds were harvested from the resulting female parental line in 2013, planted and the progeny were evaluated for their uniformity and stability. In 2014, 'EX15320' was selected based on its single, dark violet-blue coloured flowers and compact growth habit.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'EX15320' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2017/2254, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France with the trials being conducted at the University of Aarhus in Aarslev, Denmark in 2017. Colour determinations were made using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
