Origin & Breeding History: 'Kiewidiv' was developed from a Fuchsia x hybrida breeding program conducted in the 1990's at Kieft Bloemzaden, b. V., Venhuizen, The Netherlands. The objective of the program was to create new Fuchsia varieties suitable for bedding purposes. Selection criteria included upright habit, large flowers, early blooming, heat tolerance and flower colour. 'Kiewidiv' was a selection made from a seedling population of Fuchsia x hybrida that was produced as a result of crossing two inbred parental lines 2145 x 2310.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'Kiewidiv' were conducted in Oxford Station, Ontario during the summer of 2005. Fifteen plants of each variety were individually grown in 10cm plastic pots in a polyhouse. Unless indicated otherwise, measured characteristics were based on ten measurements.
