Summary: The anthocyanin colouration of the petiole of ‘HURV19PAN' is absent or very weak whereas that of ‘CBF1' and ‘Rogue' is medium colouration. The central leaflet of ‘HURV19PAN' is longer than that of all reference varieties. The central leaflet of ‘HURV19PAN' is wider than that of ‘Rogue'. The time of female flowering of ‘HURV19PAN' is early to medium (mid-season) whereas it is medium to late (mid to late season) for ‘CBF1' and ‘Rogue'. The length of the internode on the main stem of ‘HURV19PAN' is greater than that of the reference varieties. The plants of ‘HURV19PAN' are taller than those of ‘CBF1'and shorter than those of ‘Rogue'. The THC content of the inflorescence of ‘HURV19PAN' is absent or very low whereas that of ‘CBF1' and ‘Rogue' is low. The CBD content of the inflorescence of ‘HURV19PAN' is absent or very low whereas that of ‘CBF1' and ‘Rogue' is medium. The one thousand seed weight of ‘HURV19PAN' is greater than that of the reference varieties. The testa colour of the seed of ‘HURV19PAN' is grey brown whereas that of ‘Rogue' is brown.

Origin & Breeding History: ‘HURV19PAN' originated from a controlled cross conducted between two individually selected vegetatively propagated proprietary female clones in Valencia, Spain in 2015. Selection criteria included inflorescence characteristics, cannabinoid content and pollen production (masculinization) after treatment with silver thiosulfate for one of the parental clones. HURV19PAN was finally selected in 2016, and Breeder seed was established in 2017.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘HURV19PAN' was conducted as an outdoor trial during the 2024 growing season at the Cannabis Orchards facility in Kemptville, Ontario. Seeds were germinated indoors on May 30th and the plantlets transplanted to the field on June 21, 2024. The trial consisted of 3 replicates per variety with plots arranged in a RCB design. Each plot consisted of two irrigated hilled rows, each measuring 5 metres long and spaced 91 cm apart under black vinyl mulch cloth. Plots were spaced 140 cm apart. Plants were spaced 20 cm apart with a minimum of 172 plants per variety. Measurements were based on a minimum of 60 measurements per variety, except for seed weight which was based on 3 measurements per variety. The mean differences were significant at the 5% probability level based on a paired Student's T-test. Cannabinoid content was measured using high performance liquid chromatography from bulk samples comprised of 30 inflorescences per variety. The detailed description of ‘HURV19PAN' is supported by the CPVO report of Technical Examination, application number 2019/2758, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted at the Naktuinbouw, Tollebeek, Netherlands in 2020/2021.
