Description:

SHOOT: medium green

PETIOLE: medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration
LEAF BLADE: medium length, broad, dark green upper side, shallow to medium depth lobing of predominant leaves, absent to very shallow lobing of remaining leaves

FLOWER: single type, very large, moderately overlapping petals
PETAL: medium length, very broad, main colour of inner side light blue pink (RHS 73D), secondary colour of inner side medium blue pink (RHS 73B) distributed throughout, very strong conspicuousness of veins, very strong undulation along margin
PETAL EYE ZONE: large, very strong conspicuousness, main colour dark purple red (RHS 53A)
ANTHER: yellowish white
STYLE: medium length
STIGMA: medium yellow (RHS 3C)

Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'Cherry Choco Latte' originated from a cross conducted during the second week of August 2011 between 'Cherry Cheesecake' as the female parent variety and a proprietary variety '11-117' as the male parent at Walters Gardens, Inc. in Zeeland, Michigan, USA. Seeds from the cross were collected and sown in the summer of 2012. 'Cherry Choco Latte' was selected in the summer of 2014 based on flower colour and plant growth habit.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Cherry Choco Latte' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2020/0744, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted at the Bundessortenamt, Hannover, Germany in 2021. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
