Summary: The upper side of the leaf blade of 'DIWIBRU01' is light green whereas the leaf blade of 'Diervilla rivularis' and 'Troja Black' is dark green. Just before leaf fall in autumn, the upper side of the leaf blade of 'DIWIBRU01' is yellow whereas the leaf blade of 'Troja Black' is reddish.

YOUNG SHOOT: absent or very weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
ONE-YEAR-OLD SHOOT: light brown in winter
FLOWERING: begins mid-season, long duration, no second flowering
INFLORESCENCE: compound panicle type
FLOWER: yellow, small

LEAF BLADE: ovate shape, medium length, medium width, light green upper side, serrate incisions of margin, shallow incisions of margin, very weak degree of glossiness of upper side, no variegation, yellow upper side before leaf fall in autumn

Origin & Breeding History: 'DIWIBRU01' was discovered and developed by the breeder, William de Bruijn, of Boskoop, Netherlands. It was discovered in 2009, as a naturally occurring branch mutation of an unnamed plant of Diervilla rivularis that was growing in the breeder's garden in Boskoop. 'DIWIBRU01' was selected in 2009 for its bright yellow green foliage, yellow flowers, and new shoots that are red in colour when exposed to sunlight. 'DIWIBRU01' was first propagated asexually by softwood cuttings in 2009, in Boskoop, Netherlands.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'DIWIBRU01' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2014/3343, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the testing station of the National Food Chain Safety Office in Pölöske, Hungary, in 2016.
