Origin & Breeding History: 'Renba' originated from a controlled hybrid cross made in Gorron, France in 2007. The cross was made between two unnamed proprietary seedlings that originated from bulk seed resulting from the breeding program. From the resulting progeny, a single plant was selected in 2009 in Gorron, France based on its upright, well-branched plant growth habit, flower colour that emerges white and changes to pink and matures to deep pink red, large panicle size and long blooming period. Asexual reproduction by softwood cuttings of 'Renba' was first conducted in 2009 in Gorron, France.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Renba' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2014/1019, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by Groupe d'Étude et de Contrôle des Variétés et des Semences in Brion, France between February 15, 2015 and December 15, 2016. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
