Description:

PLANT: non-climbing, upright growth habit, short
STEM: no fasciation, green, many lenticels in autumn, black lenticels

LEAF BLADE: short, narrow, no lobing, ovate, short tip, obtuse base, medium depth incisions, no variegation, dark green, no secondary colour, absent or weak glossiness, weak degree of blistering

FLOWERING: begins mid to late season
INFLORESCENCE: globular, short to medium height, medium diameter, inconspicuous or slightly conspicuous fertile flowers
CALYX: medium to large diameter
STERILE FLOWER: single type, medium degree of overlapping
SEPALS OF STERILE FLOWER: margin incisions present on some sepals, white (RHS NN155B) with light green (RHS 145A) spot on top that becomes red at senescence

Origin & Breeding History: 'H212907' originated from a cross-pollination conducted by the breeder, Niels Arts of the Hydrangea Breeders Association in De Kwakel, the Netherlands, in April 2007. The cross was made between the female parent designated '06-0102-025' and the male parent designated '08-0004-000', both unpatented proprietary selections of Hydrangea macrophylla. In March 2009, a single unique plant was selected from the progeny in a greenhouse in De Kwakel, the Netherlands based on its branching characteristics; vigorous growth, stem strength; size and type of inflorescence; sterile flower characteristics and post-production longevity. Asexual reproduction of 'H212907' was first conducted in June 2009, in De Kwakel, the Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'H212907' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2014/0038, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by Groupe d'Étude et de Contrôle des Variétés et des Semences in Brion, France between February 15, 2015 and December 15, 2016. Colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
