Variety used for comparison: 'Celebration Electric Pink'

Summary: 'Kimpdel' produces a shorter plant than 'Celebration Electric Pink'. The lower side of the leaf blade between the veins is green for 'Kimpdel' while it is red for 'Celebration Electric Pink'. The flowers of 'Kimpdel' differ slightly in colour and have no secondary colour while 'Celebration Electric Pink' has secondary colour present.

Description:

'Kimpdel' is a New Guinea Impatiens variety. The leaves of 'Kimpdel' are medium in width and have a green ground colour on the upper side with no markings present. The lower side of the leaf blade is green in colour between the veins.

The flowers are single and medium in diameter. The petals are pink in colour with no secondary colour. The eye zone is medium in size and reddish purple in colour.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Kimpdel' originated from a planned breeding program in Gensingen, Germany in 1997. The variety was selected for its unique features and because it reproduced true to type in successive generations of asexual reproduction.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'Kimpdel' were conducted in Grimsby, Ontario in June, 2000. The trials consisted of a minimum of ten plants per variety grown in 10 cm pots, spaced approxmimately 25 cm. Measured characteristics were based on ten measurements.
