Origin & Breeding History: 'Boddblbrp' was developed from an Impatiens walleriana Hook. f. breeding program conducted at John Bodger & Sons Company greenhouses in Lompoc, California, U.S.A. The goal for this breeding program was to produce new, compact Impatiens cultivars with fully double flowers, excellent branching, and attractive flower and foliage colours. 'Boddblbrp' originated from a cross made in 1999 between an unnamed, semi-double seedling selection whose parentage was 'Carousel Red' x 'Tempo Pink' and the variety 'Carousel White'. 'Boddblbrp' was selected later in 1999.

Tests & Trials: The test and trial for 'Boddblbrp' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2005 at Variety Rights Management in Oxford Station, Ontario. The trial included 15 plants of each variety. The plants were grown in 10 cm pots spaced 12.5 cm apart. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten plant measurements.
