'Bodlizwhi' is a single flower Impatiens variety with absent to very weak anthocyanin colouration on the upper third of the shoot. The leaves have a small to medium length to width ratio. The upper side of the leaf blade is medium to dark green with no variegation and absent to very weak anthocyanin. The lower side of the leaf blade between the veins is green. The mid-rib and veins on the lower side of the leaf blade have absent to very weak anthocyanin. The petiole is short with absent to very weak anthocyanin on the upper side.

The flowers of 'Bodlizwhi' are white (RHS 155D) on both the upper and lower sides. The flowers have no eye zone. Incisions at the apex of the lower petals are either absent or very shallow. The upper and lateral petals are narrow and the lower petals are medium in length. Anthocyanin colouration of the pedicel is absent to very weak. The flower spur has a very weak curvature and absent to very weak anthocyanin.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Bodlizwhi' was developed from an Impatiens walleriana Hook. f. breeding program conducted at John Bodger & Sons Company greenhouses in Lompoc, California, U.S.A. The goal for this breeding program was to develop a line of vegetatively propagated, small flowered Impatiens cultivars with a compact, well branched growth habit and attractive flower colour. 'Bodlizwhi' originated from a cross made in the fall of 1999 between the two commercial varieties 'Fify White' (Firefly White) and 'Tempo White'. In February of 2000, the resulting F1 seed was sown and in May of 2000 a single plant was selected and self-pollinated in June of 2000. In July of 2000, the resulting F2 seed was sown and another plant was selected in November of 2000. This selection was propagated by taking cuttings and evaluated in a vegetative trial conducted in 2001. It was subsequently named 'Bodlizwhi'.

Tests & Trials: The test and trial for 'Bodlizwhi' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2005 at Variety Rights Management in Oxford Station, Ontario. The trial included 15 plants of each variety. The plants were grown in 10 cm pots spaced 12.5 cm apart. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten plant measurements.
