PLANT: very short to short foliage, narrow
SHOOT (UPPER PART): weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration
PETIOLE: short, weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration on upper side
LEAF BLADE: short to medium length, narrow, medium length to width ratio
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): no marking, weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration
LEAF BLADE (LOWER SIDE): weak to medium intensity of red colouration between veins, red veins
PEDICEL: medium length, weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
FLOWER: single type, broad to very broad
COROLLA (INNER SIDE): mainly medium purple red (RHS N66A), no secondary colour
EYE ZONE: large, medium purple (RHS 64B)
UPPER PETAL: medium to broad
LATERAL PETAL: medium to broad
LOWER PETAL: long
Origin & Breeding History: 'SAKIMP047' originated from an interspecific hybridization made by the breeder, Chihiro Sato, an employee of Sakata Seed Corporation in Misato, Japan. The hybridization was made between the female parental line 'NF-1(1)' and the male parental line 'NI-211-4H' in June 2011. The resulting F1 progeny was evaluated in a field trial conducted in Misato, Japan. A single plant was selected based on its flower colour, rooting characteristics and plant growth habit. The selection was vegetatively propagated and evaluated in another open field trial from June to August 2013, after which it was subsequently named 'SAKIMP047'.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'SAKIMP047' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 2017/0715, purchased from Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2018. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
