PLANT: short foliage, medium width
SHOOT (UPPER PART): very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
PETIOLE: short, very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration on upper side
LEAF BLADE: medium length, medium width, small to medium length to width ratio
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
LEAF BLADE (LOWER SIDE): green between veins, green veins
PEDICEL: medium to long, weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration
FLOWER: single type, medium to broad, one colour excluding eye zone
COROLLA (INNER SIDE): medium red (RHS 46C)
EYE ZONE: small, medium blue pink (RHS 68B)
UPPER PETAL: medium width
LATERAL PETAL: broad
LOWER PETAL: medium length
Origin & Breeding History: 'SAKIMP057' originated from an interspecific hybridization made in Misato, Japan. The hybridization was made between the female parental line 'NN-341-5H' and the male parental line 'NM-2101' in April 2015. The resulting F1 progeny was evaluated in a field trial conducted in Misato, Japan. A single plant was selected based on its flower colour, mounding habit, and rooting characteristics. 'SAKIMP057' was vegetatively propagated and further evaluated in another field trial in Misato, Japan from June to August 2016.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'SAKIMP057' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 2019/0329, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2020. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
