Variety used for comparison: 'SAKIMP012'

Summary: The anthocyanin colouration on the upper part of the shoot of ‘SAKIMP063' is of very weak to weak intensity while it is of medium intensity for that of ‘SAKIMP012'. The anthocyanin colouration on the upper side of the petiole of ‘SAKIMP063' is of absent or very weak intensity while it is of weak intensity for that of ‘SAKIMP012'. The leaf blade of ‘SAKIMP063' is short and narrow while that of ‘SAKIMP012' is medium to long and of medium width. On the lower side of the leaf blade, the veins and between the veins of ‘SAKIMP063' are green while they are red for ‘SAKIMP012'. The inner side of the corolla of ‘SAKIMP063' is medium purple while that of ‘SAKIMP012' is lighter medium purple. The eye zone of the corolla of ‘SAKIMP063' is dark blue pink while that of ‘SAKIMP012' is dark purple red.

FLOWER: single type, medium width, one colour excluding eye zone
COROLLA (INNER SIDE): medium purple (RHS NN78A)
EYE ZONE: medium size, dark blue pink (RHS NN74D)
UPPER PETAL: narrow to medium width
LATERAL PETAL: medium width
LOWER PETAL: short to medium length

Origin & Breeding History: 'SAKIMP063' originated from an interspecific hybridization made between the female parental line 'NM-2124-7H' and the male parental line 'NN-1616wB' in Misato, Japan in May 2016. The resulting F1 progeny was evaluated in a field trial conducted in Misato, Japan. A single plant was selected based on its flower colour, plant growth habit, and rooting characteristics. 'SAKIMP063' was vegetatively propagated and further evaluated in field trials in Misato, Japan from June to August 2018.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'SAKIMP063' is based on the UPOV Report of Technical Examination, application number 20203171, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2022. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
