Origin & Breeding History: 'Robmornrog' was developed from a Lantana camara L. breeding / selection program conducted in the late 1990's by Robert Roberson in Grain Valley, Missouri, U.S.A. The goal for this breeding / selection program was to produce varieties with medium sized, mounding plant growth habit and vibrant multi-coloured blooms which would root more easily and set less seed. 'Robmornrog' originated from the self-pollination of variety 'Patriot Desert Sun' which was conducted in 1997. The resulting seedling population was grown in 1998 and after subsequent evaluation and testing 'Robmornrog' was selected.
Tests & Trials: The test and trial for 'Robmornrog' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2005 at Variety Rights Management in Oxford Station, Ontario. The trial included 10 plants of each variety. The plants were grown in 15 cm pots spaced 20 cm apart. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten plant measurements.
