It was discovered and developed by breeder Rodney Bierhuizen on May 21, 2015. The parent variety 'LA006' was discovered by the breeder as a mutation of 'Munstead'. The new variety was selected based on its silver foliage, light purple flower colour, pyramidal growth habit and strong branching. 'LA007' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings on June 3, 2015, in Vineland, Ontario.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial of 'LA007' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring and summer of 2018 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included a total of 20 plants of each variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on May 2, 2018. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on July 20, 2018.
