Summary: The plants of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' are smaller than those of ‘Anouk'. The plant foliage of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' is dark green with a medium intensity of grey tinge while that of ‘Anouk' is light to medium green with a weak intensity of grey tinge. The leaf and flowering stem of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' are shorter than those of ‘Anouk'. Above the foliage, the flowering stem of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' has many lateral branches while that of ‘Anouk' has few lateral branches. The spike of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' has medium to many infertile bracts and is wider than that of ‘Anouk', which has few infertile bracts. When fully opened, the infertile bracts on the spike of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' are medium violet to medium blue violet while those of ‘Anouk' range from light to medium violet to medium blue violet. The flower calyx of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' is purplish whereas that of ‘Anouk' is greenish to purplish. The fertile flower of ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' has a smaller diameter than that of ‘Anouk'.

INFERTILE BRACTS: medium to many, oblanceolate shape, medium violet to medium blue violet (RHS N82A-B), absent or very weak to very weak undulation of margin
CALYX: purplish, medium to dense pubescence
COROLLA: purple to violet

Origin & Breeding History: 'Anouk Deluxe 16054' is the product of a planned breeding program conducted by the breeder in Boskoop, the Netherlands. The new variety originated from a controlled cross conducted in May 2014 in Nuis, Netherlands, between the varieties 'Anouk Deluxe 1205', as the female parent, and ‘Anouk Deluxe 1304', as the male parent. From the resulting progeny, 'Anouk Deluxe 16054' was selected as a unique seedling in July 2015 in Nuis, based on plant growth habit, plant strength, and the colour and number of infertile bracts. 'Anouk Deluxe 16054' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings in September 2016 in Boskoop, Netherlands.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for ‘Anouk Deluxe 16054' was conducted in a polyhouse during the summer of 2025 in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 9 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 3.78 litre containers in the fall of 2024. Observations and measurements were taken from 9 plants, or 10 parts of plants, of each variety on May 26, 2025. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's T-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
