Summary: The plants of 'Elemental' have a small to medium diameter while those of 'Akiens' has a small diameter. The leaf of 'Elemental' is greyish green with a weak to medium degree of blistering while that of 'Akiens' is green with a medium to strong degree of blistering. The time of harvest maturity for the plants of 'Elemental' is late while that of 'Akiens' is medium.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Elemental' (breeder code NUN 09131 LTL) originated from a controlled self-pollination conducted in 2010 in Gravenzande, Netherlands. The criteria used for making selections were plant shape, open plant type, leaf shape and resistance to bolting, Bremia lactucae and aphids. The variety was stable after 7 rounds of selection and self pollination in 2016 and it later became known as 'Elemental'.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Elemental' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number SLA4564, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands from 2021 to 2022.
