When all branches are raised vertically, the total plant length of 'AAC Yellow 80' is longer than that 'AAC Adagio'.

Description:

PLANT: composite type, diploid, flowers mid-season

SEEDLING: absent or very weak to weak anthocyanin colouration on stem

LEAF: wide to narrow elliptic shape, medium number of lobes, medium green, acute to intermediate apex shape, rounded margin, medium depth dentations of margin, weak glaucosity, medium density of pubescence

SILIQUE : horizontal attitude, medium to broad

SEED: low number per silique, large, round, predominantly yellow

Origin & Breeding History: 'AAC Yelllow 80' (experimental designation Y3786) was developed by crossing proprietary lines to produce a composite variety in 2017 in Chile. The variety was selected based on vigour and plant phenotype in 2018 at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Saskatoon Research and Development Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Tests & Trials: The comparative trials for 'AAC Yellow 80' were grown during the 2020 and 2022 growing seasons at the Ag-Quest Research Farm, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Plots were arranged in a RCB design with 4 replicates per variety per year. Each 5 metre square plot consisted of six rows 5 metres in length with a row spacing of 20 centimetres. The planting density was 200 seeds per row. The measured characteristics were based on 30 measurements per plant or 30 parts of plants per variety. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student`s t-test.
