Description:

'N0069Blau' is a vegetatively propagated nemesia variety with a sparse to medium plant density and erect growth habit. The leaves are dark green in colour, narrowly ovate in shape and have a serrate margin.

'N0069Blau' flowers early in the season. The calyx has medium pubescence on the inner side. The spur on the floret is slightly curved and equal in length to the lower lobe. The main colour on the upper and lower corolla lobes is blue violet. The margin on the central upper lobe has absent to very weak undulation and very weak reflexing while the lateral lobes on the upper part have weak reflexing. The lower lobe has medium to strong undulation and reflexing. The yellow marking on the palate medium to large in size.

Origin & Breeding History: 'N0069Blau' originated from a cross between the female parent, N98Sä3tetra2' and the male parent 'Hubbird', made in Gensingen, Germany in 1999. Selection criteria included vigourous growth, early flowering, partial sterility and flower characteristics.

Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for 'N0069Blau' were conducted in a greenhouse during the summer of 2003 at BioFlora Inc. in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial consisted of 15 plants per variety grown from unrooted cuttings. The cuttings rooted in week 24 and transplanted into 11cm pots in week 28. All colour characteristics were determined using the 2001 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) colour chart and measured characteristics were based on ten plant measurements.
