Variety used for comparison: 'Evolution Sunrise'

Summary: The plants of ‘Evolution Pop Corn' have an upright growth habit whereas the plants of ‘Evolution Sunrise' have a semi-upright growth habit. The upper side of the leaf blade of ‘Evolution Pop Corn' is mainly light green whereas it is mainly dark green for ‘Evolution Sunrise'. ‘Evolution Pop Corn' has a medium number of medium diameter flowers whereas ‘Evolution Sunrise' has many to very many small to medium diameter flowers

Description:

PLANT: normal type, upright growth habit, medium to tall

CURRENT SEASON SHOOT: light green distal end

LEAF BLADE: short to medium length, narrow, no variegation, flat in cross-section, absent to slightly incurved margins
LEAF BLADE (UPPER SIDE): light to medium green, absent or slight glossiness, no pubescence

CALYX: green and red
SEPAL: short, adpressed or slightly reflexed in relation to corolla tube
FLOWER BUD: narrow elliptic, yellow with pink margin just before opening, swelling before opening
INFLORESENCE: absent or weak curvature of upper part, positioned above foliage, medium number of flowers
FLOWER: whitish, one whorl of petals, medium diameter, absent or weak fragrance, early flowering
PETAL: semi-erect upper part, medium size, type 1 to type 2 shape, sinuate margin
PETAL (INNER SIDE): white (RHS NN155D), absent or very small area of secondary colour
PETAL (OUTER SIDE): intensification of colour on left
COROLLA LOBE: medium length, medium diameter, medium yellow at base, pinkish yellow external side, no petaloids
COROLLA APPENDAGE: medium to long, erect crown, strong laciniation
COROLLA THROAT (INNER SIDE): yellow, orange eye zone, even distribution of secondary colour
STAMEN: absent or very weak extrusion of plumose appendix of anther
PEDICEL: green and red

FRUIT: short, very small diameter, straight, green and red

Origin & Breeding History: ‘Evolution Pop Corn' originated from a cross conducted between the varieties ‘Agnus Soeur' and ‘Papa Gambeta'in Lliria (Valencia), Spain in 2018. In August of 2019 ‘Evolution Pop Corn' was selected from the resulting progeny based on its internode distance, number of blooms, leaf architecture, and stem diameter. ‘Evolution Pop Corn' was first propagated by seedling during March to August of 2019 in Lliria (Valencia), Spain. ‘Evolution Pop Corn' was propagated asexually through cuttings taken from the mother plant.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Evolution Pop Corn' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination application number 2020/1462 purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Groupe d'étude et de contrôle des variétés et des semences in Cavaillon, France from 2021 to 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart
