Origin & Breeding History: Osoutis' arose as the result of a cross of the proprietary seedlings, C298'( female parent), with C273' (male parent) conducted in Enkhuizen, the Netherlands in 1998. Selection criteria included plant growth habit and vigour, flower colour, shape and size, and plant maturity.
Tests & Trials: Tests and trials for Osoutis' were conducted in a polyhouse at BioFlora Inc., St. Thomas, Ontario during the spring of 2004. The trials consisted of fifteen plants of each variety, planted in 11 cm pots. Observations and measured characteristics were taken from 10 plants. Colour determinations were made using the 2001 RHS Colour Chart.
