Origin & Breeding History: 'INOSTEPINK' originated from a controlled cross conducted by Silvia Hofmann, an employee of InnovaPlant Zierpflanzen GmbH & Co. KG in Gensingen, Germany, in July 2014. The cross was made between proprietary seedlings designated 'O 13 206-2', as the female parent, and 'O 12 223-3', as the male parent. The new variety was selected in April 2015 as a single plant from the resultant progeny, based on its plant growth habit, flower colour and stability and heat tolerance. 'INOSTEPINK' was first propagated by vegetative cuttings in June 2015 in Bonsall, California, USA.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'INOSTEPINK' was conducted in a polyhouse at BioFlora in St. Thomas, Ontario, during the spring and summer of 2019. The trial included 20 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on April 19, 2019. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants, or parts of plants, of each variety on June 26, 2019. All colour determinations were made using the 2007 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
