Description:
PLANT: semi-upright growth habit, medium to tall
LEAF: short to medium length, narrow to medium width, shallow indentations of margin, no variegation, medium intensity of green colour
YOUNG FLOWER HEAD: mainly dark red (RHS 42A) ray floret
FLOWER HEAD: no paracorolla, few ray florets, very small to small diameter
RAY FLORET: short, narrow, small length to width ratio, obtuse apex, no inward rolling of longitudinal margins, absent or very narrow dark purple red (RHS 187C) ring at base, dark purple red (RHS 187C) basal part, dark purple red (RHS 60A) middle part, brown red to medium red (RHS 179A to 44A) apical part, strong conspicuousness of longitudinal stripes, tip colour same as colour of apical part, red brown to dark brown colour group of lower side
DISC: daisy type, small diameter, dark grey green
Origin & Breeding History: 'KLEOE20555' was bred and developed by the breeder Maike Boxriker in Stuttgart, Germany in August 2015. The new variety originated from a cross pollination conducted between the female parent 'OE-2015-2178' and the male parent 'OE-2014-1322'. From the resulting progeny, a single seedling was selected in April 2016 based on plant growth habit and branching, flower colour and cold tolerance. The seedlings were evaluated in greenhouse trials from September 2016 to 2019.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'KLEOE20555' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 2021/1181, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office, Angers, France. The trials were conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany, in 2022. Colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
