Origin & Breeding History: 'Paceyes' (breeder designation 'P-0500') is a product of a combination breeding program conducted by the breeder, Dr. Klaus Olbricht of Dresden, Germany. The main objective of the breeding program was to create new, compact Angel Pelargonium varieties which do not require a vernalization period for flower induction, and flower continuously throughout the summer. 'Paceyes' originated from breeding work using a group of unnamed seedlings designated '9K-3' that were cross pollinated during March to June of 1999 in Dresden, Germany. 'Paceyes' was selected in May of 2000 based on its compact growth habit, good branching, continuous flowering and an abundance of beautiful flowers.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, CPVO reference number 2002/1338, application number PED 87, grant number 14259, purchased from the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany. The trials were conducted in 2004. All colour characteristics were determined using the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart, 2001 edition.
