Description:

'Fislore' is a pelargonium variety with medium to tall plants which are broad. The stems are medium in thickness and green. The leaf blade is medium in length to long and broad with a closed base. Degree of lobing of the leaf blade is moderate. The upper side of the leaf blade is medium green with no variegation. There is a strongly conspicuous, reddish brown zone on the upper side of the leaf blade. The incisions of the leaf blade margin are bicrenate and very shallow to shallow. Undulation of the margin is weak to moderate.

'Fislore' begins flowering early to mid-season and produces a medium number of inflorescences. The inflorescences are medium to large in diameter and the peduncles are long. The number of open flowers per inflorescence is large. The diameter of the largest flower is medium and the length of the longest pedicel is medium. The pedicel is dark red with no swelling. The flower buds are elliptic in shape. The flowers are semi-double type with 6-10 petals per flower. The petal margin is entire. The width of the upper petal is broad to very broad. The upper side of the upper petal is red and the lower side is orange red. There is no white zone at the base of the upper petal. The petal markings on the upper petal are very weak to weak stripes. The upper side of the lower petal is orange red and the lower side is red pink. There are no petal markings on the lower petal. The upper side of the inner petal is red and there are no petal markings.

Origin & Breeding History: 'Fislore' (breeder designation 'Fit 449') originated from a hybridization conducted in Hillscheid, Germany in 2000. The female parent was a self-seedling of variety 'Fisrocky Orange' and the male parent was variety 'Nobila' which has semi-double flowers and medium green foliage. The first selection occurred in Galdar, Gran Canaria, Spain in 2001 and in 2002, cuttings from the selected seedling were taken back to Hillscheid for further selection and trial cultivation. 'Fislore' was selected for its brilliant orange flower colour on both the upper and lower sides of the petals and large inflorescence in combination with strong zonation on the foliage.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, grant number PEL 1982, purchased from the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany. The trials were conducted in 2005. All colour characteristics were determined using the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart, 2001 edition.
