Summary: The foliage of the plants of 'PEQZ0086' is short while that of 'PEQZ0088' is short to medium height. The leaf blade of 'PEQZ0086' is short to medium length and narrow whereas that of 'PEQZ0088' it is medium to long and medium to broad. The conspicuousness of the zone on the leaf blade of 'PEQZ0086' is weak to medium whereas for 'PEQZ0088' it is medium to strong. The peduncle of the inflorescence of 'PEQZ0086' is short to medium while that of 'PEQZ0088' is medium to long. The upper petal of 'PEQZ0086' is medium width while that of 'PEQZ0088' is broad. The margin and middle of the inner side of the upper petal of 'PEQZ0086' is dark red (more blue) while that of 'PEQZ0088' is dark red (more red).

LEAF BLADE: short to medium length, narrow, medium to deep sinus, medium undulation of margin, closed base, no variegation, dark green on upper side
LEAF ZONE: weak to medium conspicuousness, positioned in the middle, small

PEDUNCLE: short to medium length, weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration on middle third
INFLORESCENCE: short to medium height, medium width, few open flowers, medium length and width of largest flower, medium length of longest pedicel
PEDICEL: strong to very strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration on upper third, no swelling
SEPAL: moderate reflexing, weak to medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration at middle of broadest sepal
FLOWER: double type, medium number of petals, flat in cross-section in lateral view, no irregularly distributed stripes or blotches
UPPER PETAL: medium width, spatulate shape, entire margin at apex
UPPER PETAL (INNER SIDE): margin and middle are dark red (more blue than RHS N45B), very weak to weak conspicuousness of stripes only, no zone at base
UPPER PETAL (OUTER SIDE): red pink (RHS 53C)
LOWER PETAL (INNER SIDE): margin and middle is dark purple red (RHS 53A), absent or very weak conspicuousness of stripes only, no zone at base
LOWER PETAL (OUTER SIDE): red pink (darker than RHS 53C) at middle to red pink (RHS 43C) to pink (RHS 43D) towards base
INNER PETAL (INNER SIDE): dark purple red (RHS 53A)

Origin & Breeding History: 'PEQZ0086' originated from a cross conducted between the female parent, a proprietary seedling designated as 'PEZ-AZ3272-07V', and the male parent variety 'PEQZ0015' in Enkhuizen, Netherlands in July 2016. The resultant seed was sown in December 2016. The new variety was selected in May 2017 based on plant growth habit, foliage colour and flower colour and type.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'PEQZ0086' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number 20211578, reference number PEL2971, purchased from the Community Plant Variety Office in Angers, France. The trial was conducted by the Bundessortenamt in Hannover, Germany in 2022. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
