Summary: The leaves of ‘PEZZ0019' are narrower than those of ‘Starcluster Pink'. The shapes of the leaves of ‘PEZZ0019' range from elliptic to obovate whereas those of ‘Starcluster Pink' are ovate. The inner side of the corolla lobe of ‘PEZZ0019' is mainly medium blue pink to light blue pink with medium purple red at the base whereas that of ‘Starcluster Pink' is mainly light blue pink with white at the base.

Origin & Breeding History: 'PEZZ0019' originated from a controlled cross between the proprietary female parent designated ‘PTSCC0003-3' and the male parent ‘PTSCC0006-1' conducted in Gilroy, California, USA on September 20, 2017. ‘PEZZ0019' was selected on March 15, 2019 based on plant habit, branching characteristics, flower colour, flower size, and heat tolerance.
Tests & Trials: The comparative trial for 'PEZZ0019' was conducted in a polyhouse during the spring of 2024 at BioFlora Inc., in St. Thomas, Ontario. The trial included 15 plants each of the candidate and reference variety. All plants were grown from rooted cuttings and transplanted into 15 cm pots on May 27, 2024. Observations and measurements were taken from 10 plants of each variety on July 10, 2024. Mean differences were significant at the 5% confidence probability level based on a paired Student's t-test. All colour determinations were made using the 2015 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Colour Chart.
