Summary: The margin of the leaf blade of 'Orbit' has medium to strong undulation whereas the margin of the leaf blade of 'Verbier' has medium undulation. The diameter of the fruit of 'Orbit' is broad to very broad whereas the fruit of 'Verbier' is broad. At maturity, the intensity of colour of the fruit is medium to dark whereas the intensity is medium to less dark for 'Verbier'.

Origin & Breeding History: The variety 'Orbit' originated from a controlled cross conducted between the proprietary seedling designated 'OP2429', as the female parent, and the propriety seedling designated 'OP2431', as the male parent, at Enza Zaden Research and Development B.V. in Enkhuizen, Netherlands during the summer of 2013. The resulting progeny were included in the 2014 hybrid screening trial. One selection designated 'E20B0138' was placed in field trials worldwide, and later named 'Orbit' after its final selection in August 2015. The selection criteria and objectives of the breeding program were to develop a new sweet pepper variety that produces large colourful fruit with disease resistance.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Orbit' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS1631, purchased from Naktuinbouw, Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by Naktuinbouw, Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands, in 2016.
