STEM: medium to long, medium intensity of anthocyanin colouration of nodes, strong hairiness of nodes

LEAF: medium to dark green upper side, ovate shape, medium undulation of margin, medium degree of blistering, profile in cross-section is moderately concave, medium degree of glossiness
LEAF BLADE: medium to long, medium to broad

FLOWERING: begins mid-season
PEDUNCLE: semi-drooping attitude
FLOWER: anthocyanin colouration in anther present

FRUIT STALK: long to very long, medium thickness
CALYX: non enveloping aspect
FRUIT (BEFORE MATURITY): light to medium green, no anthocyanin colouration
FRUIT: drooping attitude, very long, narrow to medium diameter, very large ratio of length in relation to diameter, moderately triangular to horn shaped in longitudinal section, angular shape in cross-section at level of placenta, medium degree of sinuation of pericarp at basal end, weak to medium degree of sinuation of pericarp excluding basal part, medium to dark orange at maturity, very shallow stalk cavity, rounded apex, shallow interloculary grooves, equally three and four locules, thin to medium thickness of flesh, no capsaicin in placenta

Origin & Breeding History: 'Palermo Obedius' (breeder designation 35-529 RZ) is an orange sweet pepper variety suitable for heated cultivation. It originated from a cross made in June of 2012, in De Lier, Netherlands. The resulting hybrid, 'Palermo Obedius', was selected in September 2013 for its plant vigour, fruit quality, yield and resistance to Tobamovirus pathotype P1-2 (Tm2), Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus race P0 (TSWV) and Potato Virus Y pathotype 1-2 (PVY1.2).

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Palermo Obedius' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS1650, purchased from Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2017.
