SEEDLING: anthocyanin colouration of hypocotyl present

PLANT: medium to tall, no shortened internodes in upper part, long internodes on primary side shoots

STEM: medium to long, medium to strong intensity of anthocyanin colouration of nodes, sparse hairiness of nodes

LEAF BLADE: medium length and width, medium green on upper side, ovate shape, medium to strong undulation of margin, medium blistering, moderately concave profile in cross-section, medium glossiness on upper side

FLOWERING: begins early
PEDUNCLE: semi-drooping attitude
FLOWER: anthocyanin colouration of anther present

STALK: short to medium length, thin to medium thickness
CALYX: non enveloping aspect
FRUIT: medium to dark green skin before maturity, no anthocyanin colouration before maturity, drooping attitude, short to medium length, small diameter, very large length to diameter ratio, moderately triangular shape in longitudinal section, circular to elliptic shape in cross-section (at level of placenta), very weak to weak sinuation of pericarp at basal part, absent or very weak sinuation of pericarp excluding basal part, smooth or very slightly wrinkled surface, light to medium yellow at maturity, medium glossiness, very shallow to shallow stalk cavity, moderately acute apex, very shallow to shallow interloculary grooves, equally two and three locules, thin flesh, no capsaicin in placenta, matures early

Origin & Breeding History: 'E20S0492' (breeder's reference E20S.0492) originated from a controlled cross between the two proprietary lines E20S.0492-F and E20S.0492-M conducted in August 2019 in Enkhuizen, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid pepper variety 'E20S0492' was selected in 2020 based on production characteristics, colour, brix rating, shelf life and disease resistance.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'E20S0492' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2216, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands from 2022 to 2023.
