Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Vinales'

Summary: The intensity of anthocyanin colouration on the nodes of the stem of ‘Guintoli' is weak to medium whereas that of ‘Vinales' is weak. The shape of the leaf of ‘Guintoli' is ovate whereas that of ‘Vinales' is broad elliptic. At maturity, the intensity of the fruit colour of ‘Guintoli' is a lighter medium than that of ‘Vinales'.

Origin & Breeding History: ‘Guintoli' (breeder's reference 35-BR1406 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in October of 2018 in De Lier, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid sweet pepper variety ‘Guintoli' was selected in August 2019 in Bleiswijk, Netherlands for its plant characteristics including vigour, production capabilities and fruit set.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘Guintoli' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2200, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2022.
