Origin & Breeding History: 'Pirro' (breeder's reference 35-BO1331 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in July 2017 in De Lier, Netherlands. 'Pirro' is a sweet pepper variety suitable for the heated greenhouse production cycle in Canada. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid sweet pepper variety 'Pirro' was selected in August 2018 in Bleiswijk, Netherlands for its fruit set, fruit production, fast colouring, open plant type and strength against fruit deficits.
Tests & Trials: The detailed description of 'Pirro' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2104, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2021.
