Variety Description

Variety used for comparison: 'Kodaira'

Summary: The leaf blade of ‘Gresini' is broad elliptic whereas that of ‘Kodaira' is ovate. The undulation of the margin of the leaf blade of ‘Gresini' is strong whereas that for ‘Kodaira' is medium to strong. The blistering on the leaf blade of ‘Gresini' is a stronger medium to strong than that of ‘Kodaira'. Before maturity, the intensity of colouration on the skin of the fruit for ‘Gresini' is a lighter medium than that of ‘Kodaira'.

Origin & Breeding History: ‘Gresini' (breeder's reference 35-BR1404 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in the fall of 2018 in De Lier, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid sweet pepper variety ‘Gresini' was selected in the fall of 2019 in Bleiswijk, Netherlands for its growth performance in a controlled indoor environment, fruit size, fruit firmness and shelf life.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘Gresini' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2276, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2023.
