Variety used for comparison: 'Pirro'

Summary: The plants of ‘Silverstone' are a taller medium to tall than those of ‘Pirro'. The leaf blade of ‘Silverstone' is long whereas that of ‘Pirro' is medium to long. The stalk of ‘Silverstone' is a longer medium to long than that of ‘Pirro'. The fruit of ‘Silverstone' has a very large diameter whereas that of ‘Pirro' has a large to very large diameter.

STEM: medium length, very weak to weak intensity of anthocyanin colouration of nodes, weak to medium hairiness of nodes

LEAF BLADE: long, medium to broad, medium to dark green, ovate shape, medium to strong undulation of margin, medium to strong blistering, moderately convex profile in cross-section, medium glossiness

FLOWERING: begins mid season
PEDUNCLE: semi-drooping attitude
FLOWER: anthocyanin colouration of anther present

Origin & Breeding History: ‘Silverstone' (breeder's reference 35-BO1470 RZ) originated from a controlled cross conducted between two proprietary lines in the fall of 2019 in De Lier, Netherlands. From the resulting progeny, the hybrid sweet pepper variety ‘Silverstone' was selected between October 2020 and September 2021 in Hoek van Holland, Netherlands for its fruit setting characteristics and fruit size.

Tests & Trials: The detailed description of ‘Silverstone' is based on the UPOV report of Technical Examination, application number PPS2277, purchased from the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands. The trial was conducted by the Naktuinbouw in Roelofarendsveen, Netherlands in 2023.
